John Wigmore's Lecture

Well what a great lecture lastnight from John Wigmore. Excellent photos and what great explainations to them. Where they are and exactly what he's done to them. And the results were stunning.

Makes me want to book some holiday and a trip to scotland and the lake district.

So a big thank you to john for coming Down to us. And that fact he's a local photographer is great as some of his subjects are places we can all go to.

His photo of the airport cafe was great to see as me and my partner were there Sunday for breakfast. :-)

Final comp's of 09/10 season

Last night comp was very well attended and I was very impressed by the overall standard of the work. Roger Force FRPS judged and although we had lots of entries to get through, he still managed (in his own special way) to give a good review of each. I do agree with his comments on the Matte cutting. If anyone needs any help with mattes then please ask.

Well done to all those listed below;

Colour A Section - Robin Warren - 'Sidecar Grasstrack'
Colour B Section - Tim Brown - 'Rider 62'
Mono A Section - Colin Beckett - 'Nautilus Shell'
Mono B Section - Samantha Jones - 'Waiting'
Portrait Colour - David Gethin - ' Follow The Light'
Portrait Black & White - Robin Warren - ' Millie'

Finally, I would like to congratulate Kate for winning the best newcomer trophy.

I do hope all the winners can make the presentation dinner, or I will look a bit silly on my own with a table full of trophies.

Projected image of the year & Colour Panel Cup

Well lastnight was the c,p,c and projected of the year. We had some close images in the projected image of the year and the final winner was David Gethin with Follow the light, so well done for your great portrait!

Congratulations also to those listed below that each scored a maximum 20 points for their picture;

Steve White - Oslo Fijord
Greg Cullen - Druids
Samantha Jones - Waiting

Also it was a tough and close battle for the colour panel cup. It was fought hard by Robin and Greg but the winner was Greg with his panel from the top of the monument in London.

So well done you you both.

And a big thanks to the judge Mike Gleaves ARPS DPAGB who had a difficult choice to make.
