Photographic Competition

Canterbury Photographic Society, in aid of the Lady Mayoress’ Charity, is running a photographic competition as advertised in the local press.

The purpose of the competition is to raise funds for the Lady Mayoress’ Charity 2009-2010 which supports AgeConcern (Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay) and Save Canterbury Cathedral.

Photographers of all ages and walks of life are encouraged to feel inspired about attracting tourists to the District and to enter. The photograph can be in black and white or colour and can be a composite (ie a multi-image photograph showing scenes from the District such as Canterbury Cathedral, Herne Bay Pier and Whitstable Harbour) or it can be a single image.

A special price award, sponsored by Safety Net Associated, will be given for a photograph showing innovation in tourism.

Further information and competition entry forms can be found here;

Practical night

Well a big thankyou to the models that came and posed for us lastnight.

Although the conditions weren't ideal (very cold) from a look at just some of the photos it turned out ok and was worth while.

Portrait Practical Evening

Hi, This Wednesday will be our second visit to Faversham Arts Centre at the old old Frank and Whittome building in Quay Lane. We have arranged for a number of models to be there so those that came to the last meeting can put into practice what we talked about.

We will be setting up two sets of lights for studio type shots , and the rest of the building will be open for available light shots and flash photography.

Bring your camera gear, and a tripod if you have one as it may be dark in places and need long exposures.

Reflex Camera Club battle - Results

Robin, Arthur, Tony and I enjoyed the battle with reflex Camera Club tonight.

It was a shame that none of the other members managed to make it to represent the club. Unfortunately for Faversham, Reflex put up the better show on the night.

Febuary 17th program update

The old program shows there is no club meet on the 17th February.

This is due to the hall not being available due to ash Wednesday.

There has now been an alternative arranged. Which I think you will enjoy.

So the new club meeting is going to be held at the new art centre in faversham. Well known as the Frank & Whittome building in quay lane.

The night will start at usual time. 7.30 for 8:00 start.

We will have up to 4 models for the night with 2 lighting setups. And I believe the tunnels will be open if u fancy venturing down them.

So bring your camera, flash and maybe a torch.

Hope to see you there.
